AlgaeBulb in 2013

The AlgaeBulb uses the organisms on a micro-scale in single LED light bulb that harnesses the green-power of algae. Using a small air pump compressor, tank, and hydrophobic material, it creates just enough electricity to power the LED for limited durations.

AlgaeBulb since 2016

Seemingly it no longer be an electricity generator, but an oxygen generator which draws power from is E27 socket.
The Algae Bulb is still a great design leading us to think out of the box despite its technical infeasibility and has not been commercialized.
